Hawks Interested In Chauncey Billups, Brent Barry For GM Job

The Atlanta Hawks plan on discussing their general manager opportunity with Chauncey Billups and Brent Barry.

Billups and Barry are both currently in broadcasting but have interest in working on the team side in the future.

David Griffin, Joe Dumars, Gersson Rosas and Mark Hughes are also candidates.

The Hawks have received permission from the Rockets to interview Rosas, while New York has granted permission for Hughes to be interviewed.

Hearing these guys talk basketball often I'm not impressed with either one. There are very few players I think are really qualified to be front office management.

It's like if you asked some construction workers building a sky scraper to be the engineer or architect for some future projects. I don't really see one job as a proper path into the other the other unless they have education credentials beyond that.
