Westbrook, Harden, Wall Join Curry In Eligibility For DPVE In 2017

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu May 18, 2017 6:31 pm

Russell Westbrook, James Harden, John Wall and Stephen Curry will be eligible for the Designated Player Veteran Extension in July.

All four players were named to the All-NBA Teams for the 16-17 season.

Curry can sign the supermax contract as a free agent. Curry was already eligible for the contract due to winning MVP in two of the past three seasons.

Paul George and Gordon Hayward are not eligible for the rule.

Kawhi Leonard is now eligible to sign the Designated Player Veteran Extension in 2018.

So because makes All-NBA 3rd team he should be eligible for DPVE? No, he should not. I still think the Wizards should trade him and build the team around Beal, who actually showed for game, unlike Wall who went M.I.A. Sure, 18 pts and 11 assist is nothing to sneeze at but when you go 8 for 23, and can't score in the 4th, and not to mention you cherry pick your assist, off course it would look like you had a good game.

Agreed. Of course when you make a bunch of great passes that make it easy for your teammates to score it makes it look like you're a good point guard.

Never mind the fact the guy came off two knee surgeries in the off season and practically had a career year.
Of course he's trash and should be traded.

Also never mind they not even in that game if he doesnt make that shot in game six...or if he doesnt go nuts for 40 in the game against Atlanta to close it out or the fact that he is clearly by far the best player on the Wiz...and it aint even close....yeah dont max Wall and build around one guy while all the other great teams have multiple allstars...and the wizards currently only have one...and thats not beal...Beal is going to be the Wiz's second or third guy if the Wiz ever make a run at a ring. The Wiz should try to get someone BETTER than Wall but they gotta get Wall signed long term.

Raptors got lucky signing Derozan to an extension last offseason, that contract would be for a lot more now. I think he is showing he is worth the contract he signed, so far.

He could have had 5 surgeries, the fact that you didn't show up for your team when they needed you the most you don't shouldn't make all-NBA even if it's 3rd team

Don't think you understand the purpose of the All-NBA team.
You literally are considered one of the best of the best.
What happens once playoffs start is irrelevant, the only reward for that is a championship and there are 15 other teams that can say the same thing about their players that you are saying about Wall. Doesn't make it any more true.

Then it's time to start putting playoff performance into it as well; because you had a of other PG who did better for their team and wasn't even considered.

And yet, they're all at home watching the Warriors and Cleveland so what does it really matter?
