John Hammond Could Join Weltman's Front Office With Magic

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue May 23, 2017 5:57 pm

With Jeff Weltman joining the Orlando Magic as president of basketball operations, there is a rising expectation that John Hammond will join him in the front office.

Hammond has one more season remaining on his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. Justin Zanik is expected to take over general manager duties with the Bucks after the 17-18 season.

Weltman worked with Hammond in the Milwaukee front office before he joined Masai Ujiri with the Toronto Raptors.

He couldn't even run Jurassic Park, now he's gonna run an NBA franchise?

This would be ideal for ORL.

It's official. According to the Vertical- Hammond signed a 5 year deal to become GM of the magic. Excellent restructure of the FO by ORL. Learn from the past and get better- they tried an inexperienced GM- now they've gone for someone with tons of experience. Great for ORL!

0 playoff series wins in 9 years with the Bucks. He's a good drafter for the most part but pretty bad with almost everything else. Best of luck to John in Orlando, just not against the Bucks ;)
