Nuggets Were Unwilling To Include Jamal Murray In Jimmy Butler Trade Talks

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 23, 2017 8:27 pm

The Denver Nuggets discussed a Jimmy Butler trade with the Chicago Bulls, but were unwilling to include Jamal Murray in any deal.

Murray was one of the league's better rookies last season and is part of Denver's core around Nikola Jokic.

Denver also had concerns about the possibility of Butler leaving in 2019 when he can become a free agent.

Chicago instead traded Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

I do like Murray, but just not sold on him being a perennial All Star player. Either way IMO don't think that Butler in Denver would have been such a good idea. He would have been a rental until his contract expired and within that time I very highly doubt they would advance out of the first round.

Not surprising. Murray is such a perfect fit alongside Jokic and Murray had flashes of brilliance last season. It's shame the package we got Butler was disappointing to say the least.
AKME? More like MEAK with how they're afraid to make a move to push us in one direction.
