Raptors 'Toying With Idea Of Going Young'

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jul 1, 2017 5:47 am

Masai Ujiri has "toyed with the idea of going young" as the Toronto Raptors enter free agency.

Ujiri has been discussing their options with ownership about whether to re-sign some combination of Kyle Lowry, Serge Ibaka, Patrick Patterson and Serge Ibaka.

The fact that Paul George has left the Eastern Conference by being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder instead of the Boston Celtics perhaps is shaping the Raptors calculus.

When the East is contracted, there might be a dozen guys left in the Conference who will even be able to make the West/NBA rosters.

Instead of Serge Ibaka and Serge Ibaka, why don't they sign Kyle Lowry twice instead?

If you can sign two Serge Ibakas, you'd be foolish not to.

“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Maybe extend one Ibaka and trade another for Ike Diagu.

Things you say when your 31 year old PG is leaving you for $100, Alex.

Whatever they do they need to let Patterson walk. He's not made for playoff basketball. He's more up and down than a roller coaster.
