That's a terrible waste of money... 30 million dollars between gorgi and this character... what happened to paul milsap? Tan Gibson is very slow, poor defender...thibs needs to get off the ex bulls d for real

Don't the bulls lack bench depth? Think he's a nice off the bench punch, that's kind of how he came to be for the Bulls no?
I may agree that it sounds pretty high, but only a two year contract. Can be used to trade as an expiring contract the season after if things don't go well.

Looks like Thibs is bringing all his favourite players from the Bulls to the Wolves. I think they will be a very good defensive team next year. Playoff team for sure.

What's next? Is Thibs going to recruit Derrick Rose?

Rose on league min won't hurt my feelings..
And would need some serious attachments to Noah or deng to come back to the band

Not bad for a veteran presence off the bench, a bit pricey but he should be able to help that young team.

What makes you think Gibson is a poor defender? He's been a plus defender his entire career. He's also pretty quick on the block and far from "very slow" - He actually won Pac-10 defensive player of the year in college. Last year he was 12th in DRPM for PFs, not bad for a bench player. He's a good rim protector, closes out well, and plays good help defense. Taj is a hard worker, high basketball IQ, underrated scoring ability. He's a role player who understands his role. I watched him play for 8 years and I don't have a bad thing to say about him.

yeah, he's not the defender he once was (one of the best), but he's still plus on that end. it's loony to say he's a poor defender
that said, this is a weird signing. he got a solid deal last time around because he was expected to start at some point. now he's getting a big pay jump, he's past his prime and NOT expected to start. even if the wolves stick to a 3 man big rotation I don't see how this is worth the money

It's a bit pricey, no doubt.
The cap is up tho, it's different now.
He would surely help with what Thibs tries to do

So u have a four man rotation as big guys and we are upset about this? Towns, dieng, Gibson, and a rookie.. seems solid for me and it's locked up.. no complaints. Plus Bjelica played better as a sf anyways. So that moves him as back up their.. now just trade cole, re sign bazz and find mle guys and we ok.. watch Hayward leave Utah. Then they drop. Okc has one year and then pg13 and maybe westbrook run to la.. so let's make playoffs .. extend Wiggins.. and be a solid out for spurs/Houston/gs... and then retool next year..

Re: Re: Taj Gibson Agrees To Sign With Wolves On Two-Year, $28M Deal
Thibs wasted five mil last year on Hill..guy played like 12 minutes all year... Cole aldrich played very sparingly making a nice 7 mill. gorgii 64 million... theser arent' house hold names. Then give taj 14 million. We could have used a shooter instead, as we are going to have no bench scoring with Bazz leaving, Not that thrilled with belly as a shooter...
tyus jones, payne, draft pick this year, rush. not a sexy bench! Work still to be done. They'll probably end up with dunleavy or some shi%%
Stupid. And yes I understand the CBA quite well. But even with tv contracts raising the cap; 14 milion bucks is a lotta dough
