Jazz Attempting To Trade Boris Diaw Before Guarantee Date

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jul 13, 2017 12:00 am

The Utah Jazz are pursuing a trade of Boris Diaw before his contract becomes guaranteed on Saturday.

The Jazz would like to create salary cap space to sign another player after adding Thabo Sefolosha.

Utah acquired Diaw and a future second round pick from the San Antonio Spurs last offseason.

Diaw's deal is worth $7.5 million next season.

Spurs would be great but I think he'd be a great fit with the Celtics or cavs too!

Eh, I dont think he'd fit with the Cavs. The Celtics could be a solid fit while the Spurs look to be going younger at the PF/C spots. The Kings may be a good fit now that they're signing vets to teach and guide their young players.

I don't think he'll want to be part of a rebuilding situation unless it's with the Suns so I don't see the Kings being an option.
You can argue the Cavs wouldn't be a great option but they've lacked a playmaker when LeBron and Kyrie are on the bench. Boris can still move the ball pretty well and find the open guy.

Diaws contract can be cut team option. It allows teams to save about 10 million. It also allows teams to make room in cap space for a trade

Diaw is such an underrated player. He played a big part in the Jazz success last season as a role player and not many people notice him in his days as a Sun, Spur, and now Jazz. Diaw would've been a nice addition to the Sixers If only he was a free agent this summer, he'd be better than Amir Johnson.
My all-time starting five: Hakeem Olajuwan, Michael Jordan, and three 3nD role players.

I follow the NBA, not just one team.
