Hawks Waive Diamond Stone

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 31, 2017 7:41 pm

The Atlanta Hawks have requested waivers on Diamond Stone.

Stone appeared in seven games last season with the Los Angeles Clippers. Stone was traded to the Hawks in the Jamal Crawford trade in early July.

Stone was a second round pick in 2016 out of Maryland.

The Hawks are surprising me a bit this offseason.

Firstly, we got two new people for GM and VC. Duties that were done, in part, by BDH. So, evidently, he had way too much work to add to that of being the HC.

Then we offer the position to a new GM, who got rid of the main signee last summer.

Then we let Millsap go without a little compensation, as teams usually do.

As a consequence of this rebuilding process, we did not match Hardaway's contract offer by the (sad) Knicks.

We did not sign any significant player in the offseason, which means we are going to give time to the youngsters.

Then we get rid of Crawford.

Then we get rid of Stone.

Nobody in the staff thinks that Stone could be much better than Dedmon just by standing under 3 feet in front of the basket?

Nobody thinks Stone has a bigger upside than Brussino?

I am not implying that I disagree with all the moves... but I have to say that they are surprising.

Cannot we offer PT to Stone so we can check out whay he can do? They already saw that he has not the tools? Is he a bad influencer for Collins? Are we going to sign DMC, so we need a roster spot?

Should've stayed away from him like the scouts told us in 2k.
