Jordan Mickey Agrees Upon Two-Year Deal With Heat

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Aug 18, 2017 3:33 pm

The Miami Heat are finalizing a $1.5 million deal with Jordan Mickey.

The contract will have a team option for the 18-19 season.

Mickey was an early second round pick by the Boston Celtics in 2015. Mickey appeared sparingly in 41 games with the Celtics over the past two seasons.

Probably called Kelly O after Wizards Game 7.

I am not a Heat fan, but I have to admit that they are going to surprise a lot of people. If I remember correctly, they had one of the league's best records after January 21st. That's with Winslow being out and Waiter missing a good portion of the second half of the season. Now, they have added Oleynik and that college kid, they'll be a pain in the butt. On top of that, Spoelstra can coach his ass out.

Considering what the Heat did w/Whiteside, i'm a lil curious to see if they can bring this kid along. very surprised he didn't get more burn in Beantown considering his skill set & their style of play. they had Jerekbo ahead of him in the rotation (!!!), so maybe effort/attitude issues as the talent seems to be there. any1 else feel like pairing him w/Whiteside could be kinda scary defensively? and he won't be a ball-stopper on the other end. i can see a case for having Kelly O come off the bench as the 3rd big.

signing Boston's cast-offs isn't the only thing that makes them a quasi-Celtics-roster clone, but the types of guys they've brought in aside from the BOS guys kinda fit the mold of the kind of players the Celts would bring in abt 2-3 years ago. scrappy, edgy cast-offs with some game and something to prove that they've developed and plugged into their system. now the Heat need to work on their asset-management game to go full green. Riles sure does like trading away 1st rounders and giving out big contracts.
