Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Sep 6, 2017 5:05 pm

Isaiah Thomas is parting ways with Sam Goldfeder of Excel Sports Management.

Thomas will hire a new agent to handle his 2018 free agency.

Goldfeder also represents Blake Griffin, C.J. McCollum and Patrick Patterson.

rich paul coming soon
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

lol you beat me to it. If rich can get jr smith 4 yrs 57m when literally the rest of the league didn't want anything to do with him despite his playoff heroics - the sky is the limit for it4.

IT4 should have fired his agent regardless for not including an opt out in his last deal so he could cash in as a ufa this past summer.

IT will demand the max and one of the silly teams will give it to him. For the Cavs, doomed if you let him go for nothing and doomed if you sign him to the max. Ainge would be forced to pay him max had this trade not happened, given how much IT is loved in Boston and the fact that he was way underpaid. Now they got Kyrie for 2 more years on a relatively friendly deal. Great trade for the Celtics.

You are right from an emotional standpoint had IT4 stayed with the celtics - there would be pressure to resign him but Celtics could also have drafted a point guard in 2018 or traded for one using the two lotto picks they own (kings/lakers & nets) at the time. They traded Rondo to Dallas after his acl tear and at the time he was loved just as much by Boston fans as IT4. Also people seem to have written off Rose because he is no longer on a max deal but forget that the last time he didn't have the pressure to win or live up to a max deal he won the mvp and then signed his max extension and huge adidas shoe deal afterwards. If Rose plays well to start the season - IT4 might be coming off the bench for the rest of the season. Lebron was more excited about signing Rose than acquiring IT4.

rich paul was my first thought too. it seems like a form of collusion in the case of JR and Tristan really. you have the superstar player leveraging his team to sign outrageous deals to appease him. and these players just so happen to be represented by LeBron's personal friend and agent. its basically LeBron James' agency.

now w/ LeBron presumably leaving. IT wont have the same leverage of 'you have to overpay for me to make LeBron happy'.
