Celtics Granted $8.4M Injury Exception

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Oct 28, 2017 1:38 am

The Boston Celtics have been granted a disabled-player exception by the NBA for the anticipated season-ending injury to Gordon Hayward.

The Celtics’ exception is worth $8.4 million and expires on March 10.

Boston can use it to sign a player to a one-year contract or trade for a player within that salary in the final season of his deal.

Boston has used Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in even bigger than anticipated roles with the loss of Hayward.

The Mavs will give you Powell back, but he makes 10.2 million his last season. Dumbest contract ever. :banghead:

Danny could trade for an expiring 8 ish mil contract right now.

Then combined assets to make a run for a more expensive player, my money is on a big.
Now: Boston grabs Brewer for exception (7.6 million)

When Brewer is able to be traded:

Boston: Vuc
Magic: Brewer and Morris.

This of course will have to wait for the magic season to implode and for rebuilding to restart (again).

This will help them with their rebounding.

I'm also interested in a scenario where Celtics grab Brewer then grab Chandler (opening themselves up for a three teamer with whoever takes ( i mean steals) Bledsoe
