Pistons Interested In Trading For Eric Bledsoe

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Nov 2, 2017 5:19 pm

The Detroit Pistons have interest in trading for Eric Bledsoe.

The Phoenix Suns would prefer to send Reggie Jackson, who would be included in any trade scenario, to a third-team.

The Suns have been seeking a trade of Bledsoe since the first week of the season.

Wow talk about accelerating a rebuild. Bledsoe would be amazing on the Pistons coupled with Avery Bradley? That would be insane to watch on defense with Drummond anchoring the paint and Harris leading the offense. Make it happen, the Pistons would challenge the Cavs,Celtics, and Wizards with Bledsoe.

What else were you expecting for a PG who whines, is injury proned, and can't shoot? The Suns would be lucky to receive a late first-round pick at this point.

This entire situation is funny. The Suns destroyed Bledsoe's value by sitting him while healthy for the last month of last season all to lose a couple more games... and they fell out of the top 3 anyway. So now their relationship has soured to the point where he just wants out while potential trade partners question if he really can stay healthy for an entire season. This is exactly how to not run a team.

Sounds like a fair swap then.

Yeah, that's a really short back court. Not sure tenacity can make up for it.

The Suns would be stupid not to be happy to take back Reggie Jackson in that deal and call it a day. Bledsoe's value has tanked, as has been mentioned, and let's face it, Reggie Jackson is a starter worthy PG; something the Suns don't have, and while it may be a mirage, they are 4-4. Why not attempt to build upon that with a decent PG.

There is no reason to think Bledsoe won't play much better in a new situation. He is a great guard.

Reggie Jackson pretty much has negative value at this point. The Suns will want some kind of asset, not a liability. They would be better letting Bledsoe sit at home, then take the extra year that comes with that Reggie Jackson contract.

Detroit trades: Reggie Jackson, 1st pick and 2nd pick
Detroit gets: Eric Bledose

Phoenix trades: Eric Bledsoe and cash
Phoenix gets: 1st pick and Nikola Mirotic

Chicago trades: Nikola Mirotic
Chicago gets: Reggie Jackson, 2nd pick and cash

Might as well go one step further:

Bulls
In: Reggie Jackson and Jahlil Okafor
Out: Nikola Mirotic and Quincy Pondexter, 2nd rd pick

Pistons
In: Eric Bledsoe, Derrick Jones Jr and Justin Anderson
Out: Reggie Jackson, Luke Kennard, 1st rd pick

Suns
In: Nikola Mirotic, Luke Kennard, Quincy Pondexter and 1st rd pick
Out: Eric Bledsoe, Derrick Jones Jr and Tyson Chandler

76ers
In: Chandler and 2nd rd pick
Out: Jahlil Okafor and Justin Anderson

As a PHX fan, I dislike the trade. Yes, we get a 1st rd. pick, which is essential, but the players and their contracts do nothing but subtract from PHX's trade interest.

I believe the best trade offer so far is the Nugget's Mudiay and their first-round pick.

Even though, I am critical of Robert Sarver, I think McDonough is continuing to create the most trade value possible for Bledsoe. To the dismay of the "pundits." I still believe trading Bledsoe for Ntilikina is worth considering, if a possibility.

How do you figure? We send out $27m and receive $20.4m. The only guy with a long deal is Kennard and he's on a 4-year rookie contract. Mirotic is 2 years and Pondexter expires at the end of the year. I think you're 100% wrong about McD creating more trade value for Bledsoe. There's about a 1% chance the Knicks trade Ntilikina to us for Bledsoe. The Nuggets are more likely but I doubt they trade Mudiay and a 1st, maybe a 2nd. Bledsoe's value just isn't all that high right now.
