Adam Silver Rejected Interest In NFL Commissioner Job

Adam Silver was approached by a confidant of an NFL owner to see if he would have interest in becoming commissioner of the NFL.
Silver immediately said he wasn't interested.
Silver became commissioner of the NBA in February of 2014, replacing David Stern.
Roger Goodell's future as commissioner of the NFL remains uncertain.

I’d bet this owner that approached him is Jerry Jones lol.

Yeah, right. He is way too liberal for nfl's owners, and of course its millions of ultraconservative fans.

Adam's a smart man. He understands how much trouble the NFL is in with respect to concussions going into the future. He realizes that basketball is more palatable to an international market (especially China). The NFL might be bigger now but it is and will likely remain a U.S. only sport while basketball will grow and gain in popularity.

Adam silver is very overrated. The jerseys now resemble nascar jerseys with all the ads plastered on themZ The Nike jerseys are ripping apart. The all star game has captains now which is ridiculous... no east/west designation that everyone loves. He messed up the skills challenge. List goes on and on. Stern was better

Well it only says one owner approached him probably Jerry Jones if I had to guess.
If he actually had a shot at the position I think he'd consider since the NFL commissioner position pays far more in general, currently 4-5 times silver's income. That being said Supposedly Goodell has the support of roughly 25 teams which means Silver doesn't have a chance at it.

If he was at all interested he probably wouldn’t have said he wasn’t interested to that owner
