DeAndre Jordan has been discussed in trade talks between the Los Angeles Clippers and multiple teams.

Jordan can become a free agent this offseason and has been in extension talks with the Clippers. But the Clippers have been struggling after a fast start to the season. Jordan does not currently have an agent.

Lawrence Frank said last month that Jordan will be a “Clipper for life.”

The Clippers signed Blake Griffin to a five-year, $173 million deal this past offseason and may be reticent to committing additional long-term money if they begin a rebuild.

They need a better coach

If there is a reasonable time for the Clips to trade Jordan, now is it. The team has 3 centers in DJ, Reed and Harrell, who can not share the court but all bring something to the table. The team is not going to win anything this year, and actually has their own first round pick. With all the injuries, it would be smart to tank this year, and explore the market if someone is willing to trade a top 15 pick or some young assets for Jordan.

No point in signing Jordan if they rebuild. They should probbaly trade Blake as well.

Jordan’s contract will become harder and harder to move over time. The best time to deal him will be December 15th when they first can.
