Nikola Mirotic addressed the media as he nears return from injuries sustained from his in-practice fight with Bobby Portis.

Mirotic said he accepts the apology of Portis. Mirotic had previously requested the Bulls either trade him or Portis.

"I've been playing this game nine years professionally," said Mirotic. "I was always a good teammate, always professional with everybody. I'm going to continue to do that. If I'm here, it's because I want to support the team. He's a part of the team. I'm going to support him too"

My respect level for the two has gone up immensely. Good job, it's the only thing you can do after an incident like that. Too many times as competitive males we let friendships & relationships erode because we refuse to tame our ego.

They were both aggressive. Could any of us fault Mirotic for doubling down on his request for wanting a trade? We would all understand....

I don't think very many people expected them to patch it up, at least on the surface so they can coexist on the same together.

Doesnt sound genuine.I think he needs to say it so he could play and get any trade value.I dont think he really means that and I dont blame him.

Per just about every media report, Mirotic charged multiple times and made contact multiple times...and then he got dropped. Basically, the only people arguing otherwise are on REALGM.

Agreed. This feels like agent spin. Teams are probably ice cold about trading for him because he's a defensive liability AND now, he has this brand of being a jackass. Act contrite, and maybe things go his way
