Stephen Curry Set For MRI On Severely Sprained Right Ankle

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Dec 5, 2017 4:58 am

Stephen Curry left the locker room of the Golden State Warriors on crutches after twisting his right ankle during the Warriors' win at the Pelicans.

Curry's x-rays on the ankle were negative but he will undergo an MRI on Tuesday. Curry's ankle remains significantly swollen.

Curry has undergone numerous surgeries on his ankle before eventually moving past them and remaining free of issues.

After all, this might be Durant's chance to show what he's made of.

They should be able to hang on without Curry but if it's season ending (in the event the MRI shows more damage) teams need to load up because their chances to win won't be this great again. Especially Cleveland.

He ran off the court on it which was interesting, but was on crutches later.

Not like that. I watched the tape and it was pretty ugly. Just saying, the fact he could run out on it is encouraging.

I once was playing soccer on a field that had a small ditch. I stepped on the edge and my ankle bent just like Currys. It was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced. I eventually managed to get up on one foot (douchebags didnt help me at all) and hop over to the side but there was no way I could've jogged like Curry did. I ended up icing it and being fine a week later so it will be interesting to see how Curry fares.

Oh no. Ankles and Curry are two things you never want to hear. 5 or so years ago the conversation was if his ankles would ever hold up a full season. That's why he had such a low salary from his injury risk at the time and it allowed them to get Durant ultimately.

Bad ankle sprains usually are usually worse as time goes on. You know it's really bad when it's black and swollen the next morning.

Not bad for a guy with "glass" ankles. But keep pushing that narrative.

2012-13: 78 played games
2013-14: 78 played games
2014-15: 80 played games
2015-16: 79 played games
2016-17: 79 played games
(plus playoffs and championship rounds)

Hopefully for his team, he gets back on track before the playoffs.

sit him. rest him. he's always in game-shape; might as well sit him and save his legs for postseason, and develop the young kids in case you need them in the playoffs.

With a sprained joint like an ankle after you get off it and cool down it gets stiff and the more it swells the worse it gets that's why they ice it. To keep down the swelling. But the strained ligaments will need time to heal.

The return of the glass ankles. I'm sure he'll be fine, Dubs' training staff was upgraded specifically to help prevent and treat Curry's fragile ankles. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/14750602/how-golden-state-warriors-stephen-curry-got-best-worst-ankles-sports
