Blake Griffin Expected To Return From Injury This Week

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Dec 26, 2017 9:21 pm

Blake Griffin could be back in the Los Angeles Clippers' lineup before the end of December.

Griffin has ramped up his rehab from a sprained medial collateral ligament injury to his left knee.

Griffin was initially expected to miss up to eight weeks when he suffered the injury on Nov. 27.

Griffin went through a variety of drills Tuesday with Clippers assistant coach Sam Cassell and Larry Abney, the team’s basketball operations assistant.

Clippers still in the playoff hunt.
Jerry West needs to make a trade already.

Why? Tank. Do they not have their pick?

What do you mean why? Players and coaches have their jobs on the line. Tanking is something low class losing organizations like the 76ers actually do. Few other teams support the idea tanking. Few fans do too.

Great. Enjoy him getting injured again and winning nothing and never improving.

Same people, that ignore that Blake was 3rd in MVP voting couples years back?
Blake is a Monster. The team just lost 4 starters, once Blake returns, Playoff run for 7 or 8th seed.

Exactly what I said. He's great. Let him spend this year getting healthy in a year where 2 other starters are done for the year and they aren't winning anything. He keeps coming back too soon and hurting his back, feet, knee, etc. Clippers can't improve through free agency so a decent pick, picked by not Doc Rivers is the best way to surround Blake with some competent players.

Yes, that makes sense.
however; Clippers wont be competitive with Draft picks for the next 3 years. There isnt enough time with Blakes HUGE contract to not try RIGHT NOW.

What is needed: Jerry West to finally do something and NOT sign an players like Danillo. Reminds me of when Doc signed Turk/Brian Cook :banghead:

I don't think next year or 2019-2020 is lost yet. The Clippers cap isn't that dreadful, compared to Memphis, or Charlotte. Even the Knicks cap is probably worse depending on if you think THJr is a replacement level player or actually good.

The 8th pick could be a rotation player if you have a real front office and good scouts. RIGHT NOW is over, this year is over, Beverly is done, Gallo is done and Blake has been injured 3 times this calendar year let them all heal and play whatever young guys you can and see if any of them are rotation players.

Call this year a loss and get a top 10 pick with a real front office. If you let everyone walk, or maybe even flip DJ for a late 1st and expiring. Maybe Austin Rivers thinks he's good at basketball and declines his player option after his Dad gets fired. If that happens the Clips are at ~$70 million going into the Summer with a top 10 pick, maybe another mid 1st for DJ. Beverley and Dekker on great deals next year. You have to hope Blake and Gallo are healthy in 18-19, but there's not changing that ... neither contract is really tradeable at this point. Cap will be 101 million something next year. That gives you 2 1st rounders, and a swing at Paul George or LeFlop.

Edit: also this next draft is the last time you own your pick until **** 2020. Rest Blake and Gallo, get a good pick.

I'll agree with most.
except we need Jerry West to somehow bring in PG and get rid of Gallo.

Blake is still in his prime and we are wasting it with pick n roll offense
