Kawhi Leonard Diagnosed With Partial Tear In Shoulder

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 8, 2018 2:16 pm

Kawhi Leonard has been diagnosed with a "partial tear" in his left shoulder.

Leonard was ruled out of Sunday night's game at Portland, and the Spurs plan to evaluate Leonard over the next couple of days of its current road trip.

"I don't think it will be a while," Gregg Popovich said.

The latest setback represents yet another roadblock for Leonard in his return, as he missed the first 27 games of the season rehabilitating from quadriceps tendinopathy.

Damn it. I hope he’s able to get healthy properly this season. Wish him the best.

Doesn't sound too serious, a least it's not his quad and Gay will be back soon.

Maybe blessing in disguise with LMMA being the go to guy for a longer stretch

Thanks for the honesty.

At what point is this guy going to be called injury prone?

He still hasn't played a full season in his career.

Currently number of games per season

64
58
66
54
72
74
8

Granted the 72 and 74 are pretty normal for a player, but he's had to seasons under 60 games, and has currently missed nearly half the season this year. As much as I believe he is a two way superstar and an MVP caliber player, his body may not stand the test time, which is ironic because he is a physical specimen.

I can't remember his injury history, but in fairness, didn't he miss the beginning of this season because he landed on a Zaza's foot when Zaza got under him on a jump shot? Or was that a different injury to the quad that kept him out early this season?
