DeAndre Jordan, Lou Williams Receiving Trade Interest From Cavaliers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jan 20, 2018 12:32 am

The Cleveland Cavaliers have interest in both DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Both Jordan and Williams will be free agents in 2018.

The Cavaliers have also registered interest in George Hill.

The Cavaliers own the 2018 first round pick of the Brooklyn Nets but they've been reluctant to include it in any trade proposals. The Cavaliers are shopping Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith in trade talks.

Seems awfully expensive Id Love is a better player than Jordan and Id rather have the Brooklyn pick than Low Williams currently. Think more of Tristan Thompson and Brooklyn pick.

Overpay by Cavs. They're not going to give up the Nets pick for those guys. They could both leave, Lebron could leave. Now, they have no players and no pick. If they trade for a vet on a short contract, it won't be including the BK pick unless it's a player of Paul George's type of level, and they feel that's enough to convince Lebron to stay.

Cavs want AD, Boogie, Westbrook, Giannis, Harden, Derozen, Kemba, Lillard AND Blake Griffin for Love + and the Nets first rounder. Got it...how is this news?

I just read this Trade is official. Unfortunately the dubs are still the best in the league. Thanks KD

Well, would you say getting Jordan required giving up #1 pick from Nets? I think it does. Jordan is pretty valuable.

And in order to give up Lou William who play like a All-Star this year, you got to get something of similar value back...not a bunch of expiring extracts. Like why would the Clippers want to give Lou William up to begin with? Think about it. If Cavs want to get Williams, then they might have to give up Love.

For someone who is about to be a free agent in a few months?

Wouldn't it save time by simply running a headline like:

"Cavs interested in trading for good players, expected to offer little or nothing in return."

Lol. Reluctant to hand over pick? That's the only thing teams want from the Cavs. No Brooklyn pick included, means theyre not making any moves, just making a lot of noise. No one is taking rose, dwade, Smith, trash alone. The pick must be included. Which means, Bron is goin bye bye. Just spittin troof...

No way the Clippers are giving up DJ or Lou for an overpaid role player in TT and Smith. DJ is easily top 5 center in the league and a game changer on the defensive side while Lou is a sparkplug and professional scorer. Clippers are also talking with Lou on an extension so unless the trade brings back quality I doubt they trade either DJ or Lou just to make a trade.

Not to mention the Bucks want DJ as well and likely will offer a lot more back if the Clippers do want to make a trade.

Kemba is also available which could make some sense if they get DJ as he can opt out next year and all the money go off for the Hornets if they throw in one of their bad contracts (Dwight, Batum, etc.), so could be some talks there as well.

Point is Clippers have other options out there to actually improve their team and get some assets back so unless the Cavs offer pieces like Love and the Nets pick it won't happen.

Tristan Thompson makes sense. He can be closer to that Kardashian nonsense.

I doubt that's enough to for both, maybe for just DJ but no way for DJ and Lou.

The Cavaliers need to do everything they can to trade Isaiah Thomas. He is hot garbage out there. Last year he ranked DEAD LAST in the entire NBA in defensive rating. He gets picked apart every single night by the opposing guards. The only reason he worked in Boston was because they surrounded him with one of the best defensive rosters in the league. They were able to effectively hide his glaring issues on defense. Cleveland made a huge mistake trading for him. The honest to god truth is that Isaiah Thomas should be a 6th man off the bench, give his team 20 MPG and generate some quick offense. He is not a starter in the NBA.

What would they provide back? Doubt LAC wants TT and the cap hit. They need a fresh slate, if they trade the Brooklyn first rounder, clippers should definetely consider that. You never know it’s CLE.

They won’t move him.
