LaMarcus Aldridge, Al Horford Were Last Picks In ASG Draft

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Feb 17, 2018 2:53 pm

LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Horford were the final selections by LeBron James and Stephen Curry in the 2018 NBA All-Star draft.

"I'm not a flashy player," Aldridge said. "That's OK.

"We're all All-Stars, so, at the end of the day, we should be thankful to be here. Picked first, picked last, it doesn't matter. We're all competitive, too. It won't be the easiest thing to be picked last, but at the end of the day, you're just happy to be here."

Team LeBron held the first and final picks in the draft.

Said Curry: "I think the draft itself would be amazing on TV just to hear the back-and-forth between the captains and see how the teams fill out. But we have to protect our guys' [dignity]. That's the biggest thing."

Respect dignity? Give me a break. These are grown men and professional athletes. Consider it part of the job. You get picked where you deserve to get picked. And if something is out of line with the selections, then it deserves to be discussed and scrutinized. How easy do you want to make your millions?

So why is it they don't televise the draft if they leak the last picks anyway?
At the end of the day, it's not about wins and losses. Teamwork, fair play, and good sportsmanship make champions of us all.

Go arbitrary assortment of athletes! Beat the other arbitrary assortment of athletes or my mood will suffer!

If next year's draft is not televised it will be ridiculous. Nobody's ego has been protected by them not televising it, so it only ripped off the fans of some enjoyment and that is the spirit of the all star game, to celebrate the game and give back to the fans...

If a college kid can handle being called publicly Mr. Irrelevant during the NFL draft then a veteran NBA all star can handle being picked 14 out of 14 in public

So only the absolute LAST player of each team is revealed.
That's extremely unfair.

This is the problem when the fans have nobody to speak up for them, we needed representation in this negotiation. Tell the player's union if their players had actually given any effort in the game, these changes would not be required in the first place. The league dropped the ball here by not giving the fans what they wanted...

Drafted exactly where they should be. LMA is a boring player and so is Horford.

It's refreshing to know that some of you care. I personally will just miss having real basketball to watch this weekend.

from an excitement standpoint, correct. not if the captains want to win (which they obviously don't)
the donald, always unpopular, did worse in EVERY state in 2020. and by a greater margin in red states! 50 independently-run elections, none of them rigged

Also nba drops the ball their should be some sweepstakes for people who vote for the starters. Like a trip for two to the allstar game or free league pass for a season to 20 fans. I bet if they did that more people would vote for starters.
