Dirk Nowitzki Undergoes Minor Ankle Surgery

Dirk Nowitzki has undergone minor surgery on his left ankle.

Nowitzki will miss the remainder of the season.

Nowitzki played in 77 of the Mavericks' first 78 games of the season.

Nowitzki was questionable for last Sunday's game with a left ankle impingement, which is a problem related to bone spurs, something that Nowitzki has had periodic problems with throughout his career in both ankles.

Dirk has earned the right to play for as long as he wants to. Hope he finishes his contract strong next season.

I would love to see dirk in the playoffs one last time! Even if its a first round exit as an eight seed.

Well, at least he left for Memphis, leaving the Grizz ruinous, otherwise it would have been much worse.

OTOH, if Noel had accepted that contract maybe it would be different?
