Knicks To Interview Kenny Smith For Head Coaching Job

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Apr 19, 2018 1:37 am

Kenny Smith will interview with the New York Knicks for their head coaching vacancy.

Smith has never coached in the NBA and has worked in broadcasting with TNT since 1998.

Smith has previously expressed interest in working in a front office capacity.

The Knicks are also considering David Fizdale, Mark Jackson, David Blatt, Jerry Stackhouse and Mike Woodson.

He said Kevin Durant was going to lakers and that he had an inside track to his camp for like two years. KD called him an idiot who is stirring beef between him and Westbrook so more people watch First Take and listen to his radio show.

They can't be serious. Kenny is one of the least insightful "analysts" (I use that term lightly) in basketball. He almost never says anything of value.

In fairness... that describes 95% of basketball analysts.

Lol, this is true. I don't remember anyone like Kenny getting HC consideration though

If I'm the Knicks ... and I'm thinking about going in a fresh direction with a former player void of experience ....
I'd make an offer to Kobe.

The guy has a monster intellect for the game, has learned from multiple veteran coaches, and he has great perspective on the league

Working for James Dolan is career suicide look what he did to Larry Brown and Phil Jackson. Also Kobe ain't leaving sunny Hollywood for NY winters.

As I stated last week, the Knicks have hired 8 coaches in a row who are ex-NBA players, and that doesn’t include Phil. There isn’t going to be some revolutionary, forward thinking, Brad Stevens type hire here, they always go for name recognition.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Has he ever coached before? Like even high school ball? Why has someone like Patrick Ewing who's actually put in time as assistant always get passed up. It's the Fricken Knicks!

I'm not saying Kobe would accept ... but it would be a splashy story
