Raptors Will Explore All Trade Options In Offseason

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 25, 2018 3:37 pm

The Toronto Raptors will explore all options on the trade market this offseason, according to multiple sources.

The Raptors parted ways with Dwane Casey, which could decrease the odds of a major overhaul of the roster even if they will still gauge the value of DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valancinuas.

The Raptors could also cut salary in the form of Serge Ibaka or Norman Powell.

DD and JV have some value.
Masai needs to get realistic of JV's value. Masai over-values him.
DD would fetch a decent haul. w out DD though, TOR will be fighting for an 8th seed.

Masai mistakes
KL max.
Ibaka.
Keeping JV overvalued and not dealing him 2 yrs ago.
playing FO games and making an obv turf war, which deters bigtime coaches from signing on.

that's a lot to fix.
they'll need a JerryWest/Calangelo type hatchet man to come in and clean house

Is this really even news? Obviously they are gonna explore all options after being swept.

If we only move Ibaka, I'd still be fine. Salam can easily fill the void.

Agreed with a couple things but some are wrong..

KL max - 3 year deal (2 left after this) is a solid deal because of the length. KL is all star/starting caliber for the next 2 years unless he gets injured.
Ibaka - terrible deal, worst decision of Masai's tenure. never should've traded for him when we could have a Morris brother for 1/5th the price
Keeping JV - somewhat agreed. Should've moved him and kept Biyombo (in a Clint Capela role). Problem with Bismack is he got a near max offer from Orlando which would have been stupid to match. That being said Siakim or Jak could play center or and they could've kept PJ Tucker as the starting 4

i mention KL. the KL deal is worth it IF another team is willing to take on the same deal. if you see a flat trade market, it's a marker for an overbid. ie Conley.
i dont think other teams were willing to give KL the max. i think Masai blinked and was bidding against himself.

Ibaka isn't close to the shot blocker he was when he was younger.

Trade him for Wiggins? (not straight up)

As they should. I really have a feeling the Lakers and Masai will work on a deal involving DeMar. Anytime you can get an all nba talent for something like Ingram/Deng you do it.

To be fair, JV finally turned into something at least close to what he's getting paid. And yes, keeping Bismack for that money would have been ridiculous. Raps did not have a chance to keep PJ though, Raps offered more money than Houston and he still chose to go to the better team.

Do you think the Magic can get VanVleet?

Why do you try to be logical....? Every team that doesnt have Lebron, AD or KD will explore all trade offers.

Toronto will do every thing in their power to dump Derozen. And the sky is blue...

I'm 50/50 on that. Bright side is DeMar would come home to play which could possibly elevate his level of play. Downside is contract and realistically looking at the Lakers team down the line and wondering if they can go far with DeMar and perhaps PG if he really wants to come to LA.

If they want to pay him I guess. He’s restricted FA. Not a lot of trade value there.

I disagree. I’d keep Ingram unless you are getting A level star
