Pacers Decline $4.3M Option On Lance Stephenson

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jun 25, 2018 8:49 pm

The Indiana Pacers plan to decline their team option on Lance Stephenson, which is worth $4.3 million in 18-19.

The Pacers plan on maintaining as much cap space as possible for free agency.

Stephenson signed a three-year deal at the end of the 15-16 season.

Stephenson is still just 27 and has reclaimed his career since rejoining the Pacers.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him resign in Indy after the Pacers use their cap space on a bigger free agent.

When you say Pacers use their cap space on a bigger free agent, whom are you referencing? Is Indy a destination?

Yes, anyplace with cap space is a destination. And to be fair, most players are bigger free agents than Lance.

Lance should sign with the Warriors. Just like Javale and Swaggy P (Nick Young) did, saying NBA Champion Lance Stephenson has a nice ring to it.

Interesting. At 4.3M he is dirt cheap by nba standard today. He was also the guy they kept going to when they needed someone to create a bucket out of nothing in that first round. Yeah his off-court issues are well documented, but Pacers seemed to be his place.
