Spurs Prepared To Trade Kawhi Leonard

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 28, 2018 3:42 pm

The San Antonio Spurs have reached a point where they are prepared to trade Kawhi Leonard.

"They're ready," said a source.

The Spurs had hoped to repair their relationship with Leonard.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Spurs are fully engaged in trade talks with multiple teams including the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers. Sources say the Spurs have the most interest in a trade package with the Celtics.

That source is Danny Ainge, who thinks he has him. His best possible offer is Kyrie and the MEM 1st. So the Sixers need to up their offer a little to just get over that.

How can Boston match salaries? Irving? Why would SA want him?

Looks like LA will gut the team for KL and LBJ.

Kyrie Irving not a bad return for a player that wants out of your team. They’ll both be free agents after this year, but with Irving’s interest in the Spurs before, I’m sure their chance in locking him up long term is high. I don’t know but personal preference, id rather have Kyrie over any player the Lakers are offering.

No offers from other teams.
SAS publicly exposed to having no leverage.

Why doesnt PHI wait to sign him as a UFA in a year?
If the answer is they have no chance, why trade assets for him w no chance of resigning him?

Ainge knows the "game". Me thinks he didn't bother artificially inflating the trade offers bc of SAS highly uncharacteristical erratic media leaks.

a trade of Jaylen Brown, Rozier, Marcus Morris, garbage (Yabu and Nader) works for Kawhi

LAL currently has a ‘team’ to bust up? If Magic had to move 10 guys to get James, he would.

How good is brown/rozier? How much do they cost?
Moving forward will their value increase, plateau, or decline?
BOS needs to keep both kids.
Don't be foolish.

First of all, no one ever losing a trade when they get a top 5 player back.

Jaylen Brown is a potential all-star moving forward, he's 21. He's the best perimeter defender on the Celtics (unlike Smart he can stay in front of the fastest players in the NBA without any issue).

Terry Rozier looks like a potential 6th man of the year type scoring guard. He's 24.

It's really impossible to see their values decreasing going forward outside of acts of freak Injury or acts of Crime/Drugs. Both seem to have their heads on straight though and have zero injury concerns.

Celtics: Brown, Kyrie, FRP

Lakers: Ingram, Kuzma, Deng, FRP (Gasol?)

Philly has been confirmed to have made an offer. So has LA. We just don’t know what those offers are. Boston suddenly coming up as a favorite tells me all I need to know about where the info is coming from.

Brown, Rozier, Morris, Yabu and Semi works but SaS definitely don’t have five open spots on the roster so not sure it is really feasible tbh..

kawhi to lal initiates lebron to lal and therefore maybe even pg and god knows who else after that.

so no way is ingram and draft pick enough,,,,NOT CLOSE. add ball, randle, and kuzma. there's a time factor here and lal is on it. if this doesn't get done soon enough, nothing happens. lal is sitting on a POTENTIAL lebron/kawhi/kuzma/other bandwagoners unless this gets blown. lal and sas are unwilling bedfellows but lal's is more necessary

What happens after the fact is not Pops business plus there are no guarantees. Long story short is Spurs have to trade him now to get max value and nobody will offer much value for a 1 year rental. They keep pretending to be strong while the Lakers and everyone else knows how weak of a position they are in. The clock is ticking and the Spurs best not get greedy before it blows up in their face with a **** deal. They are not getting both Ingram and Kuzma. They can have everything else.

Nope.
1 asset + $dump.
Ingram stays in LA.
KL genius. He leveled his own trade value while destroying SAS leverage.

Dear Giannis/AD, I know you're already paying close attention to this but study how KL beat the system.
