LeBron James Won't Meet In-Person With Cavs At Start Of Free Agency

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jun 30, 2018 6:05 pm

LeBron James and his representatives are not planning on meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers when free agency opens.

James' camp and the Cavaliers have been in regular dialogue since the season ended.

Rich Paul informed the Cavaliers on Friday that he would not opt-in to his $35.6 million contract for the 18-19 season.

It is unclear at this point if an in-person meeting between James and the Cavs has been scheduled down the line.

Cavs give him 11 years, traded for all the players he cried to the media about (when it was possible), overpaid his friends when he publicly pressured them to, gave him the highest payroll in league history and he won't even give them a courtesy sit down.

It is pretty clear he is leaving, no need to spit in his fan's faces on the way out. He should have given them a meeting and say he chose another destination. People would have been fine with that. It's not about Gilbert or even team management, it is about showing a shred of decency to the city and fans that gave him everything he wanted and embraced him when he came back to try and cherry pick, even though he left them for dead once already. He destroyed the roster and gave them no hope for the future and is now running to cherry pick off another team's assets. The fact that he is doing this to his own hometown (for the second time) just shows how sad and pathetic this classless douchebag is.

I think you missed the part where it says "James' camp and the Cavaliers have been in regular dialogue since the season ended." I mean that says more than a meet up in person, with a team he already knows inside and out. Like you said hes been there 11 years.

Like all of these articles though, no one really knows. Every single one of them is smoke at best or complete he said she said rumors. No one knows what he wants to do. He completely does this on purpose every single time, he has his whole career, he likes when people talk.

"Lebron's camp". That's cute. His camp was keeping tabs on what the Cavs were doing or trying to do. Let's not make it seem like he was revealing any of his cards to anyone.

We know what he wants to do because he said it himself, "this choice will be up to my family, and then ultimately me". Since he isn't meeting with the Cavs and so far doesn't plan to, but he is in LA right now just before free agency starts, it tells us something. Sometimes you don't need him to admit it when his actions are speaking for themselves. His family would obviously have no interest in Boston, Philly or Houston. So that leave Cleveland and LA. He is turning up his nose at Cleveland every chance he can get, what does that tell you?

The reports over the last few days has made it clear Cleveland is an absolute last resort and he has said nothing to refute that to his adoring fans. If he wanted to go back, why would he leave them in such limbo and let them be so disrespected if he wasn't going anywhere in the first place? :banghead:

Not whining, not even a Cavs fan. Just seeing the disrespect as a third party and calling it for what it is. Cavs fans deserve more than what they got. That is part of the legacy Lebron can't change. He gave them a title, but at what cost, their own dignity? He used them like a dirty tampon and ran from the trash heap, twice.

Cavs had three 1st overall picks and a 4th pick to build around him and failed.

I dare you to make a poll here or in the cavs board asking people if they feel cavs (the fans and city) gave more to LBJ or it was the other way around. Ask who benefit more out of the relationship.

Camp? Too light of a word. Posse? Too inferior, an injustice.
More so, an Army. This guy has an army of people behind him w reach/influence that is hard to fathom.
He is not just a basketball player...

The reports.. which go back and forth every hour. Im sorry that you are buying into them but none of his actions have said anything and its like that EVERY time. They are all just reports by news outlets that want him to go to LA but have zero concrete evidence. NO one knows anything besides that he likes living in LA in the summer and he grew up in Cleveland.. wow. Its been that way for years.

If you want concrete evidence watch for things like when he came back to Cleveland. Where Cleveland fans tracked Dan Gilberts private plane flying to Miami. Or them trading Tyler Zeller, who was considered a lottery pick talent at the time, for literally only cap space.. trading a rookie for cap space. When you see things like that happen you might know.

The only thing I know is that his first coach Paul Silas, who proved to be right years ago, said he will make the decision on where he can win. I honestly though think he knows he cant win anywhere, Golden state is just too stacked. If he truly likes living in LA and thinks he can win at life with his kids there, then he might just move. I also wouldn't be the least surprised if he takes weeks to see where the dominos fall on who will come to LA, or maybe he already knows where they will fall. Hes taken weeks before, this may have just started.. and just like before the media knows NOTHING.

Look for the clues:

1) The Lakers have two max slots, no trades required;
2) "Lebron's camp" has made it known he will not meet with the Cavs and has no plans on it either;
3) LA is the only other destination that makes sense as per the narrative he is selling; and
4) He landed in LA this afternoon, just in time to meet with Magic tonight.

Sure, nothing out there at all. I'll take my chances, his track record bodes well for me

Welcome to Hollywood, now you have to follow the script King. Time for to hit the set for take 4. Will this be the final take? How many hours after the magic meeting will he meet with the man he cried to after losing in early June? Does that man get a face to face?

If he really did land in LA to talk to Magic on a Saturday night.. that does mean something. I agree. Ive thought for the last week that Magics statement that he would step down if he didn't land any free agents meant something more than we know.

The media though still I think is just guessing.

:banghead:

Evidence? No such thing in the media game.
They(media types) all get activated/fed (by handlers) in sequence. Carefully planned out long long (year+) ago.
The only thing that u should ping in your mind is when u hear a puppet(windy, vescey, stein, gray etc) come out and publicly walkback and/or reframe a pitch/narrative to get the plan back on track.
Windy did that twice this week.
Beware.
