No idea why we signed him. He's a terrific role player but we already have THREE players that play SF. Unless they plan on trading one (Warren) and having them play out of position this makes no sense.

And with it being a year deal seems less likely he can be used for a future trade.

They need 2 pgs and they have warren, jackson and bridges. Pointless move by the suns.

The suns probably trying to replicate houton's small ball line up

booker, jackson, (open), ariza, ayton

it'll be pick n roll with booker/ayton all day. then they'll kick it out to ariza, the other dude for 3

Nice deal for Ariza. Rockets are in trouble. There is no way they can find a comprable replacement.

What? One year? They're saving for 2019 free agents?

I guess Ariza believe he'll play even better next year? Risky move.

Officially the worst management in the west. Sac town youre promoted.

What does 1 year of ariza do for phx? He's a good player on the right team...but the suns are built to the point of needing a specialist at a high price.

Dumb.

The 6ers paying redick 25 mil for one year made sense because they were playoff bound...the suns arent even clothes to where the 6ers were last year....and theyre in a harder conference.

Good for ariza though. I like him as a player, but there will be a price for that contract when the wins dont come.

Dumb dumb dumb.

That should read "are not built" and "close" not clothes

Huge blow to Houston who could use that 3 and D perimeter threat. Didn't see this one coming either...he must feel Houston doesn't have a chance to get back and took the money instead.

Rockets have 2 already on the roster. Luc and PJ. Ariza was bad in the playoffs, we will be fine without him.

Since Luc didn't even play in three of the seven Finals games, it seems D'Antoni found Ariza more valuable than him even when Ariza was struggling. Ariza will be missed by the Rockets; the Warriors are the winners in this deal.

Luc is a long and active body, but he is not Ariza no matter how much you wish he was. They can't just plug Luc in and be fine, that is not reality.

Luc didn't perform very well in the playoffs either. Luc had two games where he was +3, every other game he played in he was clearly a negative. In nine games in the playoffs Luc managed to be a positive twice.

Ariza? He had six games out of 17 that were in the negative. He had four games of more than +20 and a single game of +40! That gives Ariza 11 of 17 games where he was a net positive to only 2 games in 9 where Luc scraped by and barely made it into the positive.

It's pretty clear that you can't admit that your team just took a downgrade here. It is plain as day to the rest of us.

Ariza is old and overrated. HOU would have liked to have him back, but how do they come close to that type of overpay?

Luc was injured in the playoffs.

God knows James Harden doesn't play sny defense. He will be exposed on the perimeter without Ariza.
