76ers Remain In Running To Sign LeBron James

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Jul 1, 2018 2:59 pm

While the momentum has signaled that the Los Angeles Lakers are the frontrunners to sign LeBron James, the Philadelphia 76ers remain a viable option.

"The Sixers are still in this," said Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 76ers are trying to sell James on their pair of young superstars in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

This would totally contradict the narrative that Lebron is letting his family have a say this time. Philly makes no sense for his family. I can imagine the conversation around the table if it happens "Sorry guys, but you know I am a spineless coward with no competitive spirit. I have to cherry pick, I can't help myself, we're going to Philly (or Houston)."

Tis won't end well for the 76ers if it happens. Lebron is a better version of Ben Simmons. Horses and Donkeys are both better than walking... but you can only ride one at a time. Can you afford to feed both? It might be better to pass on the horse and gett a whole bunch of chickens! :D

Dear PHI:
would u flip Embiid for a few 3&D vets?
Would u then flip Dario for a Javale McGee type?
Would u want Griffin installed as the GM?
Would u want to take the ball out of Simmons hands and stunt his development(best case scenario) or use him incorrectly as an off ball slasher (worst case scenario)?

This. King and king of social media cannot coexist. Cannot risk that one player could control the narrative better than broninc.

I am only holding Lebron to the narrative he sold us already and not letting him change it, as that is a very common thing for him to do when he comes up short.

What did Lebron do? Besides cherry picking and being spineless? He did nothing to me personally.

As a basketball fan, I have seen him change the league in a negative way while also trying to sell himself as GOAT. He sells narratives and then tries to move the goal posts when he fails miserably. Any real basketball fan would be offended by the arrogance and ignorance this coward shows his predecessors and current players. Any current player that gets any accolades can expect a Lebron slight in some way "Steph won MVP, I am the real MVP of this league" crap. He tries to pass Jordan by cherry picking and trying to pad stats and when he fails miserably, he tries to change the narrative. He was "chasing the ghost of Jordan" for most of his career. Now that people laugh and say he will never catch him, Lebron wants to pad stats and use that as a measuring stick. He is the first "best player in the game" to try and cherry pick the easiest situations for his entire prime. He shows his fans/franchises no loyalty or respect in any way. He tries to tell people how his legacy should be perceived. The list is pretty long. As previously mentioned, it really just boils down to him being a spineless coward with no competitive spirit. If he showed the game or other players any amount of respect, he wouldn't be in this position he is in now. Nobody with a choice has any interest in joining him. That speaks volumes about him. Nobody wants to be son'd by this guy. Nobody wants to be blamed when they lose games and Lebron says "I did my job, look at my stats".

If a superstar joined him in LA, they would only be doing Lebron a favour and helping him. There are literally no pluses for these guys, only potential drama and blame while always having to play second fiddle to him. These guys have more mental fortitude than Lebron, so they want to join a team and beat him, not take the easy way out like Lebron. Hopefully the league doesn't keep with the trend Lebron has set and the league will get back to normal when Lebron is done with his pathetic attempts to take the easy way out of every situation.

The media is ridiculous. They have been saying for the past week, its Cleveland or LA. What, they didn't believe George could possibly sign with OKC? The media pushed and hoped for the LA "Super Team" to come to fruition and with PG13 in OKC, it won't. Mud on their faces and now they want to say Sixers are an option..... beat it.

Are u implying MJ MAGIC KAREEM WILT OSCAR RUSSELL KB BRONINC SHAQ - any 16yr vet with a lifetime achievement award can show up on any teams doorstep, tear it down and takeover?

Or should the teams find the best fit possible and stay on their growth trend even if it doesnt help build his legend?

You mix up the argument.

So basic. Basic. Hes a GBOAT! No MJ is! Round and round it goes. Hater this hater that. Blinded by the surface. Same basic empty calorie low level argument.

There are several teams hes tailor made for as a player(SAS DEN). Hes not interested.
The teams he trying to engage & wants to absorb will have to be flipped and torn down to fit his very specific style of play.

What does being GBOAT has to do with trashing a teams backed in value and destroying their growth?

Hes not just a player. This guy is a galaxy all his own w an army of people behind him.

July 1 is here. Where's the clamoring of teams leaking their pitch ideas for him? No one has.

Last time around: LAs, HOU, NYK, MIA, CLE, POR, DAL, BKLYN, etc leaking weeks In advance for a chance to get the first 5 mtgs...
This time around: only his agents are leaking their ideas of they takeover PHI or who'd they sell LAL on as a tandem talent bundle.

Lebron was removed from the GOAT conversation by anyone with knowledge of the game last year at the very latest. It is nothing but a joke when people try and assert it now. Just shows how little they know about basketball. Thanks for letting us know your station on the spectrum of basketball fans...

No, GOAT title runs end with a title, not Finals MVP going to the guy you are supposed to be guarding...

I know it is tough for you to understand, but there are two sides of the court and Lebron was noticeably absent on the defensive end.

The 76ers would be an arrogant mistake. Lebron is obviously underestimating his age and the urgency to win now (this year).

Colin Cowheard was selling the heck out of the "Super Team" and LA is the only place to live narrative. Can't wait to hear him tomorrow. He beats up on Westbrook like a dirty rug. Media/ESPN needs the limelight on LA during the Finals not Philly or Cleveland. Lebron being coy doesn't help either.

Na, it's just one guy basically. But since he's so relentless, it seems like there's an army.

Delonte? Didn't LBJ kick him out of the league?
