Pistons Hire Analytics Guru Sammy Gelfand Away From Warriors

The Detroit Pistons have hired Sammy Gelfand, who had served as an analytics guru for the Golden State Warriors.

Gelfand traveled with the team as a back of the bench assistant coach. Gelfand was Steve Kerr's go-to guy for statistical research.

The New York Times did a glowing mid-playoffs feature on Gelfand, titled: “The Left Side of Steve Kerr’s Brain.”
