who in their right mind thinks schroeder is a upgrade over melo?
schroeder is owed 33 mil over next two yrs and they gave up a First rounder lol
But oh yea, Melo was the problem the thunder sucked last yr in playoffs. SMH

I think the 100 million saved has something to do with it.

This is mostly a money-saving move but Carmelo was also bad last year and unbelievably bad in the playoffs. You're probably the only person on here that doesn't immediately see how Schroeder's a better on-court value than Melo at the moment.

Everyday I'm reminded by NBA owners and executives not to take their word for anything. The Hawks said they'd build around Schroder when they traded away Howard (and bad-mouthed him) and let Milsap simply walk away (without even holding a meeting with him).

Having said that, he's very immature and couldn't shine even when he had the team all to himself last year. I don't see how he fits with the Thunder (unless they'll move him for an asset).

The Thunder needed bench scoring, whether it's from Kanter, Melo or Schroder. Melo wouldn't come off the bench and was very costly.

Schroder could make a great sixth man. This is much better than just waiving Melo.

They might want to trade him again.

yes. and may thankfully take the ball out of Russ' hands a bit more. Russ needs to stop chasing the triple double.

some truth there. but - good luck getting Dennis to buy into a "Bench" role. he thinks he's a champ caliber alpha.

Carmelo Anthony to the Rockets will make the Rockets worse. Don't do it.

Schroder is a GREAT edition to play behind Westbrook or both of them playing In the back court

1) schroder and melo are both bad. the hawks much preferred the draft pick to schroder
2) OKC had to give up the pick to save a boatload of money
3) melo was just ONE of the problems for OKC

Man says a lot about Schroder that the Hawks just dumped him for essentially a late first

Well yeah point guard is the deepest position in the league and Schroeder is well below average as a starter. A late first is pretty much what he's worth at this point.

he's worth less than a late first in the eyes of the hawks. it wasn't a straight up trade. the hawks also took on melo's bad contract
