This contract is a bargain for the rockets especially if there is no opt out and it is a firm 5 year commitment. Morey does it again.

Nothing wrong with 18 million a year on a long term deal. That's about the equivalent to 21+ million for one year in my book.

Well done guys. Now let's get that championship.

Rockets had to get this deal done. Seems like a fair deal both ways.

So he turned down a 5/85 deal, now gets 5 mil more, Rockets are lucky this offseason only the Kings have money to spend.

It's a fair contract for Capela. He's good, but he's not elite, and the market for centers is at an all time low. The only way he was getting max money is if a very bad and desperate team like the Suns gave it to him next summer.

This is the first move of the offseason the Rockets have made that I thought made sense.

Wow, it is a bargain for the impact he makes for the Rockets.

The Rockets original offer was reportedly $85M -$90M with incentives.
The Kings, Hawks, Suns, Sixers, Nets, Magic, Pacers, Bulls, Lakers and Mavericks all had money to spend.

good deal for both sides. he gets guaranteed $ and set for life. rockets lock him up for the next 5 yrs. He should be able to get another big contract in 5 yrs assume he gets even better each yr.

Fyi the suns just drafted a center as the number 1 pick so of all the teams with cap space that was the dumbest one to mention..

Pretty sure Capela would disagree with you. He's a full 7 million per year shy of Adams' 25 million per. Adams is earning 10 million more over the course of only 4 years compared to 5 years for Capela. If Adams' deal was 5 years, he'd be earning 125 million compared to Capela's 90 million. That's for sure not my definition of "pretty close" if it's my salary you're trying to negotiate. It's almost 30% less.

Why is capella being compared to adams? Adams has had far more success in the nba over a longer period of time. Capella had... One good year???

This is why these contracts are so ridiculous. A guy who has one good year, a contract year btw compares himself to another guy who has been bringing it every night for many years.

The new guy wants the vets deal...which was basically a reward for service. Let's see if capella can live up to this deal or lets not.

The terrible off season for houston continues.

More like, why is Adams getting compared to Capela?

What a steal for Houston.

Meanwhile, the Raptors are paying Ibaka 20-23 million annually...
