Greg Monroe Agrees To One-Year, $2.2M Deal With Raptors

Greg Monroe has agreed to a one-year, $2.2 million deal with the Toronto Raptors.

Monroe finished last season with the Boston Celtics.

Monroe was previously traded by the Milwaukee Bucks to the Phoenix Suns as part of the Eric Bledsoe trade.

I like the signing.

He can be a liability on defense but what he brings on the offensive and rebounding can be a huge plus especially in certain situations. He's good at what he does well and does so efficiently.

In the 2016-17 season with MIL, they had a better defense with him on the floor than without him, by 1pts on 100 possessions, but more they had an offense better by more than 6pts. the previous season, so he can defend a bit, but his major skill is clearly his offensive game

Raps are a contender the same way Houston and Boston are.

Realistically no one is beating Goldenberg State but a top 2-5 team 2-5 team in the NBA is absolutely a contender.

the Bucks has the personnel to be a good defensive team but sucked under Kidd and his replacement. defense is largely a coaching issue.

I would imagine the only reason Wood hasn't signed with somebody yet is that is agent is looking for guaranteed, long term money. But he will almost certainly play somewhere this season.

I’m not sure Stevens did that great a job hiding Thomas, the Celtics were 13th on defense with him and vaulted to 1st after he was gone.
