Stan Van Gundy Admits To Feeling 'Lost' Without Coaching Job

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Aug 13, 2018 12:33 am

Stan Van Gundy admits he is feeling "lost" after not finding another coaching job since parting ways with Detroit Pistons.

Van Gundy was hoping to coach again but wasn't a candidate this offseason. Van Gundy is still just 58.

"If I could get a job [for next season], I had planned to coach. Now, I really don't know," Van Gundy said. "I'm really lost right now. I don't have an idea. My wife wants me to retire."

Van Gundy said he is considering media opportunities or teaching at the college level.

"I want to do something, but if I'm not coaching, I don't want to work too hard," Van Gundy said. "If I'm going to be grinding, then I want to coach. If I'm not going to be coaching, I want to be semi-retired, at least. I really don't know."

Sounds like the poor guy's a workaholic kinda like me. I really envy those people who can not think of work all the time and can just find peace. As a real estate agent, I can take as many days off as I want but I usually only take 1-2 days off a month and when I do, I feel guilty, lost and my brain keeps telling me I should be at work. The fact that Stan is 58 and feels lost and wants to keep himself busy by working freaks me the hell out lol

Eh, more proof that doubling as front office and coach rarely works. He's proven to be a good coach on his own.

I hear Dwight Howard could use another personal assistant and yes-man. This could be your next big thing, Stan!

Well, at least you are bball posting!

OP: Maybe bring Jeff and coach for LaVar's league, then double as porn stars.

Thanks for the honesty.
