The Houston Rockets have waived R.J. Hunter.

Hunter was on a two-way contract, appearing in five NBA games last season.

Hunter also played for the Rockets in Summer League.

The Boston Celtics selected hunter in 2015 but he was waived before the start of his second NBA season.

I remember watching him and his Dad, his NCAA coach IIRC; back when they had a nice run in the NCAAs.

I felt like that March Madness air time ELEVATED THIS KID'S status... Not to be a hater. Just didn't think the dude was the next Klay Thompson ... NOT EVEN imo... but I hate to be too harsh.

I am going to dig up the stats AFTER saying this: RJ Hunter either looks or plays like the twins out of Nevada... the Martins.

GOOD ENOUGH TO STICK in the league... but NOT NECESSARILY good enough to secure a roster spot for more than a season or so...
