Magic Open To Trading Nikola Vucevic

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Aug 28, 2018 3:58 pm

The Orlando Magic are expected to make Nikola Vucevic available in trade talks.

The Magic are building their frontcourt around Mohamed Bamba, Jonathan Isaac and Aaron Gordon.

Vucevic is entering the final season of his contract with the Magic.

Vucevic was acquired by the Magic in 2012 as part of the Dwight Howard trade.

NBA team open to trading away a player they don't want on their team anymore.

With big's, specifically centers, being devalued more and more, I can't see a team wanting a low post scoring/rebounding presence over a defensive minded big or wing. I would much rather acquire Tyson Chandler for a deep run then him.

Perfect fit is a trade with Milwaukee for Henson since Hammonds loves him so much.

Agreed here. Bucks in a slightly cap shaving move to benefit Orlando makes most sense

Not sure if Schroder didn't get into legal trouble, refuse to play for a rebuilding team and have a poor shooting/defense season, would it have happened already?

OP: Not a secret. Just look at Brook Lopez, it's tough for these guys nowadays. The guy can shoot, it's just his defense that's a problem. Which team needs bench scoring? Sixers/Wiz/Wolves?

Cavs could use him...

Clarkson for Vuci?

Not a lot of defense in the low post, but he and Love would make for a great rebounding and scoring duo down low

Suns fan here, Chandler is not much of a defender nowadays. However, he can still rebound.

Why would Orlando do this with Isaac, Bamba and AG in town?

Make it Bledsoe and we can keep negotiating fillers.

Orlando needs an upgrade at the point of draft picks. Otherwise I’m happy letting him expire and keeping the cap space.

Im kinda surprised they took this long to put him on the market. I think its been obvious for awhile now even prior to having Mo Bamba in tow that Vuc's days with the Magic were numbered...

Seems like no one wants Vucevic, tbh.

Is everyone just going to overlook the fact that this is nothing but speculation and there is no source for the information?

Bigs who can rebound well and shoot threes are still in demand though. Vucevic has shown improvement as a three point shooter. If he can improve significantly on 64-204 from three, he will definitely have a starting job. And like someone else mentioned, Chandler is washed up.

Orlando has been willing to trade him for the last 2 seasons, so this is nothing new to any NBA team.

wouldn't be surprised if the magic offered vucevic (12m) to the clippers for patrick beverley (5.5) and marjanovic (7m). all contracts expire this year.
