Kyrie Irving Discusses Intention To Re-Sign With Celtics

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:41 pm

Kyrie Irving discussed his intention to re-sign with the Boston Celtics during his 2019 free agency in an interview with Rachel Nichols of ESPN.

"Even if I ever try to think about that thought of going elsewhere, it would be like, 'What are you thinking?'" Irving said in the interview. "We're pretty (expletive) good here."

The Celtics traded for Irving during the 2017 offseason and he has been linked to the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets during this offseason.

Irving declined a contract extension offer this offseason as he can sign for significant more money in 2019.

The Cavs weren't bad when he requested trade?

The difference is Kyrie is the leader of this team.

You're talking about him wanting to go to the Knicks, Nets, etc. being fake news, right?

Throw the "Wants to play with Jimmy B" fake news in there too.

Does Tuesday's quote about GH make it sound like he wants to share the backcourt with anybody else?

“In 2014, I was his host in Cleveland when he was a restricted free agent,” Irving said of Hayward Tuesday. “To think that we’re able to play together now, one year taken away from us, it’s just making up for lost time. Man, he’s so talented. I’m just a big fan. I was watching his highlights yesterday, so I just can’t wait to see Gordon play. I’m so happy for him. I’ve been waiting to play with a two-guard like Gordon.”
