Justise Winslow Signs Three-Year, $39M Extension With Heat

Justise Winslow has agreed to sign a three-year, $39 million extension with the Miami Heat. Miami holds a team option in the third year of the deal.
Roc Nation completed the deal with Pat Riley and Andy Elisburg on Friday.
Winslow would have otherwise become a restricted free agent in 2019.
After surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum shortened what had began as a promising 2016-17 season, Winslow played 68 games a season ago and averaged 7.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists for the Heat.

We also have a team option on the third season of the contract so there is an extra incentive to keep focused.

(Although it would be a pretty dick move of Riley to sign Winslow to an extension, and then immediately ship him off to another team....)

He did get better at shooting, but he was one of the worst wings offensively in the league not long ago.
Does he really deserve to be paid more yearly than Richardson?

He makes considerably less this season. Winslow certainly has a high ceiling. He might fail, but I don't expect him to. We have to be patient and see.

Not really, he's being paid well for his production.
