Blake Griffin Glad Trade To Pistons Happened

Nearly a year after Blake Griffin was traded by the Los Angeles Clippers to the Detroit Pistons, he is content with the relocation.

“Yeah, I’m glad it happened,” Griffin told the Times. “I’m not saying I don’t miss certain people. There were some awesome fans that I got to know and I felt like I was very close with them. And there are some people you miss over there, but it was just time for a fresh start.

“I’m glad to be here.”

Teammates of Griffin say he's thriving in a leadership role in the locker room.

So far I think it worked out well for both teams. Both are more competitive this year and the Clippers get a chance to start over next year by having the cap space next year to sign a superstar while the Pistons got a young star that gels well with Drummond and can still improve his game to make the team better.

Shouldve kept Blake on the Clippers.

Shouldve traded CP3 for Westbrook when KD was still on the Thunder.

The "moving from LA to Detroit" issue was overblown, and I'm guilty of that myself.

Blake is probably better off focusing strictly on basketball in Detroit, and flying to LA to do his Hollywood thing during his breaks.

As a Clippers fan, admittedly, I was bummed when Blake was traded but understood why it happened. Glad to hear Blake is having success in Detroit and both teams seem to be doing pretty well. I hope him and DJ will get their numbers retired by the Clips.
