Giannis Antetokounmpo Doesn't Want To Work Out With NBA Stars

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Dec 8, 2018 5:51 am

Giannis Antetokounmpo turned down Carmelo Anthony's invitation to play in a popular pickup game in New York City last summer that featured LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and James Harden.

“I can’t work out with you in the summer and then play you in a few months,” Antetokounmpo said. “It feels weird. It doesn’t feel right with me. Like other players, it’s cool for other players, but I don’t. I don’t want to. Other guys do it.”

He added that he doesn't want to be "buddy buddy" with his opponents, before mentioning that he and Kevin Durant only began texting each other a month ago.

Instead, Antetokoumpo worked out with Kobe Bryant for the first time last summer since Bryant wouldn't be able to use his secrets against him in a game.

Man, love this so much.

And, seriously, he should pay Drew Hanlen whatever it takes to spend every waking second with him next summer.

Sounds like he lacks intelligence.

There's no reason to dislike your opponent. People in most sports know each other outside of the competition. Professional surfers all know each other for example.

Lol at protecting his secrets.

Would that be the secret move where he is allowed to spear wildly around the court without having to dribble?

He's played 5+ years in televised NBA games. I think everyone knows his "secrets" by now

Sounds like you lack intelligence, where does it say anything in the article about disliking other players?

How on earth did you come away with this, then to say he lacks intelligence because of it?

He never said he dislikes them. He didn't want to "buddy buddy" like the many of the other veteran superstars. Giannis is just an old school kind of competitor.

I know this is the wrong thing to do, making comments so personal here, but you literally keep making the worst posts on this forum and that has been the case for the last two years easily. Whenever there is a really terrible or superficial post and you look at the user name it is always yours. It is not even 90% of the time, it is pretty much every post on these general boards that strikes you as super bad.

You are easy to remember with this awkward user name and, again, I don't want to be insulting, but you should think about it. It happens in this order:

1. There is a super terrible post that defies logic and sometimes ethics.
2. You look at the user name.
3. It is you again.
4. You swallow the reply because you don't argue with fools. You may even be a very nice person, but so often you are too bold and too far off.

I'm sorry, but maybe you want to simmer down some and make a little less bold statements.

I love this old school attitude.
AAU started a bad trend with the buddy ball nonsense.

Firstly, it's discouraging you don't know the difference between a news article and a forum.

As far as intelligence goes you're talking to the one percent.

Here''s an example of me letting you know how you're wrong: You have no say in what goes in the comment section. That is up to the site owners. Who do you think you are acting as though you know what deserves to be here and what doesn't? The moderators can tone down whatever they please.

Sounds like he doesn't want to work out with Carmelo Anthony because he is not a star.

In today’s NBA the players almost have to recruit to get a second star in free agency. Wait, he is in Milwaukee. Nobody in their right mind will go there in free agency.

Either he's pandering or his youth is showing. At any rate, if he actually believes this then he's yet to see the big picture re:NBA.

I do expect him to come around in 3-4years.
