The Memphis Grizzlies are expected to sign Austin Rivers once he is bought out by the Phoenix Suns.

Rivers was traded last week by the Washington Wizards to the Suns.

This kid's pops still managing a team in the league? Balmer needs to pay courtesy to Doc by throwing another 3year max at Austin. Lol can't believe Doc actually once resigned Austin to 3years over Dahnte Jones.

Austin Rivers has no business being in the NBA - nepotism has kept him the league.

He was on his way out of the league from the Pelicans / Hornets when LAC / Doc Rivers gave his career a desperate lifeline & a questionable contract extension.

Entering 7th year in the league with career averages of 9.3ppg 2.1rpg .418fg% .64ft% - there are FAR better players on the planet that are much more deserving of the 24mpg gifted to Austin.

Hoping the league puts in strong rules to prohibit such blatant nepotism.

I get where you're coming from; You don't like his contract. Dad overpaid him. That's fair. But there are far worse players in the league. Doc didn't draft Austin in the lottery. He came in with potential and has fallen quite a bit short, no question. But he's fine as an 8th or 9th man sort of roll.

Sounds like you've never actually watched him play. Maybe you should try that!

The Rivers contract was bad, I’m just not sure Dantay Jones is the name you should be using in your counter argument? He’s played a total of 2 NBA games since 2014-15.
