Buddy Hield Reveals He's 26-Years-Old, Not 25 As Listed

After celebrating his birthday earlier this week, Buddy Hield clarified that he's 26-years-old, one year older than his listed 25 years of age. 

When asked why the official NBA website has him listed at 25-years-old, Hield responded “that’s their fault, not my fault. The first time I saw it on Wikipedia, my mom said, ‘Why do they have your age wrong?’ I said, ‘I have no idea.’ ”

Hield said his conscious was clear and that the Kings front office knows of his real age. 

Hield added, "I came over with a passport. My passport has 1992 on it. My driver's license has 1992 on it. I just think people got their information from Wikipedia or wherever, and they just went with it. They just got it wrong.”

Well he was born in December so he’d have been 18 in 2011 at the end of the school year. He’s also from the Bahamas. So it’s possible he missed a school year based in the time of year he moved to the US. Or was just placed at a lower grade for one reason or another.

And here last week we all thought he was a young prospect . . . 10 days later he's aged 2 years and "he is what he is".

Also to put this in perspective his first year in the NBA was his age 24 season. No one drafts a 24 year old at #6. Most don't draft a 23 year old like that thought he was. I doubt he was forthcoming either if those teams didn't catch it or mention it.
