Knicks Sought De'Aaron Fox, Donovan Mitchell In Kristaps Porzingis Trade Talks

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Feb 5, 2019 8:17 pm

The New York Knicks sought a trade of Kristaps Porzingis for much of January.

The Knicks approached the Sacramento Kings on De'Aaron Fox as well as the Utah Jazz on Donovan Mitchell while offering Porzingis. Both second-year players were deemed untouchable in Porzingis talks.

The Knicks always knew the Mavericks would be interested in meeting their price for Porzingis.

Dennis Smith Jr. is also a second-year guard but he's had a slower start to his career than Mitchell and Fox.

The Knicks have no concept of team chemistry if they thought either team would be interested in trading their young star leaders.

NBA teams don't make talent-based trades anymore. Long gone are the days of Shawn Kemp for Vin Baker for Terrell Brandon.

Biggest no brainer. The Jazz and Kings both had a good laugh at that trade.

Knicks were shocked to learn that other teams try to build around young talented players instead of pouring jet fuel on their rosters and giving max deals to average veterans
