Thunder Were 'Especially Interested' In Drafting Khris Middleton In 2012

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Feb 21, 2019 2:52 pm

The Oklahoma City Thunder were "especially interested" in drafting Khris Middleton at the 2012 NBA Draft.

The Thunder instead selected Perry Jones III at No. 28 with Middleton going 39th overall to the Detroit Pistons.

Oklahoma City traded away James Harden several months later.

What the... looks to me like something randomly written. It doesn't even make sense. If they were "especially" interested why didn't they draft him? What does that even mean?

Soooooo, if the owners weren't cheap and having Middleton didn't have them trading Harden even MORE!

And yet they didn't even make him an offer when he was an RFA a couple of years ago.

I do remember them being linked to him during the draft.

Oh the Thunder is one of those rare teams that have interest in multiple players in the draft and then pick one that doesn't end up being the best player of the ones they were interested in. I wonder if this has happened to any other team. A+ article, real eye opener

I am especially interested in better news reports.

Guys, for the 5000th time, instead of complaining about these short realgm posts, read the actual articles they come from. Some of them are clickbait-y BS and some are pretty interesting--this one is much more interesting that the headline itself.

To be fair I would have drafted Perry Jones top 5 in 2012. How wrong could I be? Thomas Robinson vs Perry Jones go.

I also caught a Texas AM game earlier that year and liked Middleton though, it always surprises me when prototypical 3and d guys don't go higher.
