League sources believe the Houston Rockets may be circumventing a NBA rule regarding complaints about competition-related matters by leaking a report about the officiating during the Western Conference Finals last season.

The NBA sent a memo to all postseason participants reminding teams that the process for raising “competition-related matters” that include officiating matters need to be shared with their opponent.

The Golden State Warriors were aware of Houston's complaints to the NBA last season, but had moved on. The Warriors "had forgotten about it" until the report was leaked to The Athletic on Sunday, according to a source.

The Rockets protested "landing area" calls on several occasions during Game 1.

When will the media start calling it like it is? The Rockets are cheaters. From the front office all the way down to the players, they believe they are above playing by the rules. They're the most unsportsmanlike team I've ever seen in the NBA and an embarrassment to the sport.

The rulebook and the referees are an embarassment to the "sport"

You see jimmy butler kicking his feet out on 3 pointers last night and getting rewarded? I did.

I have been reading they (Rockets staff) have gathered info on ref tendencies since 2006. Also, the refs went into the Houston locker room and apologized for missing some calls.
Why didn't they do that after the game? Why didn't they talk to GS?
Now fans should see why non diehards dislike the game.

Circumventing NBA rules must just be the Rockets way. Harden does it on the court, and now the Rockets brass are trying to do it off the court.

I'm just speaking facts here. Harden and CP3 are cheating by flopping and embellishing. Morey is cheating by circumventing the league's rules in order to try to sway the officiating. All of their energy is devoted to finding loopholes around the rules instead of playing the right way. If they don't want to be called cheaters, they should stop cheating.

The NBA and it's officials admitted to getting several calls wrong. HOU being mad about that doesn't make them cheaters.

And everybody on every team in the NBA is lying to the refs: They are all coached to flop (on O and D); they all claim they were shooting at every whistle; they all point in the opposite direction or claim they didn't touch the ball when it's they clearly out on them; They were fouled on every shot; every block is clean; everyone really wants to fight Steven Adams and wishes people would stop holding them back.

The NBA is just performance art... it has been for a long time. It's disingenuous to call the Rockets out for something that everyone is doing, especially when several of the calls in question were admittedly missed calls.
