Clippers Fined $50,000 For Tampering Following Doc Rivers' Comments On Kawhi Leonard

The NBA has fined the Los Angeles Clippers $50,000 for violating the league’s anti-tampering rule.

The fine is in response to comments regarding the Toronto Raptors’ Kawhi Leonard made by Doc Rivers in a recent television appearance.

The Clippers are widely expected to pursue Leonard this offseason.

"[Leonard] is the most like Jordan that we've seen," Rivers said. "There's a lot of great players. LeBron is phenomenal, KD is phenomenal. Not that [Leonard] is Jordan or anything like that, but he's the most like him. Big hands, post game, can finish. Great leaper, great defender, in-between game. If you beat him to the spot he bumps you off, and then you add his three-point shooting."

Right. Doc said nothing like were going to offer him a contract or anything like that. He just praised him. Compared him to the goat. Guess that's where it's considered tampering. But LeBron goes on air saying he wants Kawhi and Butler and gets away scott free

Fine him. Doc knows what he’s doing.

He could have said he’s a great player but had to go in depth about how great and put him in a higher pedestal than Durrant and Lebron.

With all the rumours about him and the clips he should have not said what he said.

We should ask Lawrence Frank that question all season long while he’s been in raptor games attendance.

Your a little bit simple aren't you.. Magic got fined twice for this.. Players are not subject to these rules and recruit all the time.. GSW players namely Draymond were recruiting Durant the whole year before they got him.. You really need to do some research before you open your mouth..
