Steve Kerr Says Kevin Durant Making Progress, Will Gauge Potential Return After Practice

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Jun 9, 2019 6:08 pm

Steve Kerr has yet to rule out Kevin Durant for game 5 of the NBA Finals, saying that Durant has made progress on his injured calf.

Durant was cleared to practice on Sunday.

“What he’s doing today he hasn’t done (before),” said Kerr.

Kerr added that they will watch Durant practice and “gauge it from there” in determining his availability for game 5.

Exactly, I’m calling bull on this one. Tomorrow morning we’re gonna be hearing “BREAKING NEWS: Kevin Durant ruled out for Game 5 of the NBA Finals”

Can this nonsense just stop. The Finals is more than halfway over. The guy has not yet practiced. The Raptors have already beaten GSW with Durant in the squad.

Golden State is simply doing this as mind games, Durant is not coming back and even if he does he will be rusty as hell.

So he tore his Achilles? Usually a guy with a torn Achilles isn’t shooting on the court. Also a guy about to be a free agent might want to get that surgery ASAP as well to be ready for the following. Stop with this crap. He has a calf injury that is typically 4-6 week injury. It’s been five weeks. It’s not unheard of. It’s just heightened being so deep in the playoffs

Sounds like he's a go for game 6. We know this series isn't over tonight. Refs will fight like hell to push for another KD return at home. Warriors blow out Raptors tonight. KD returns game 6 they win that game. Raptors win game 7 Kawhi to good

Agree with what your saying. A few points for devil's advocate - An Achilles doesnt have to be torn but it could definitely be strained. Photos of KD's strapping and icing placement seems to be more in line with an Achilles or ankle injury than a normal/high calf strain. That being said, a calf strain can linger for a long time as you said and a low calf strain seems most probable based on the simple reasoning why would medical staff lie about it? To think otherwise is buy into some strange narrative that involves KD hiding injuries to spare the Warriors fans complete despair while simultaneously not ever playing for them.

Has any journalist seen a video of him shooting or doing any drill?
I believe this all situation is just ridiculous, but they are ingerior and they are playing with that.

So he’s playing on an Achilles injury tonight I guess? He’s got some balls with his free agent tour coming in a few weeks
