Bucks Trade Tony Snell, 30th Pick in 2019 Draft To Pistons For Jon Leuer

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 20, 2019 5:55 am

The Milwaukee Bucks are trading Tony Snell and the 30th pick in the 2019 draft to the Detroit Pistons for Jon Leuer, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski.

In addition to shedding Snell's $12 million contract for the 2020-21 season, the Bucks also save $4 million this year. Leuer has one year remaining on his contract at just over $9.5 million.

Bobby Marks of ESPN also adds that the Bucks could create up to $14 million in cap space this summer.

The Pistons now hold the 15th and 30th pick in the upcoming draft.

For shedding that contract for two years for just the 30th pick not bad.. I was thinking Griffin for CP3 could make sense too.. CP3 with Drummond and Harden with Griffin feels like better distribution of talent..

Pistons are so poorly run it's painful.

Yea that franchise is going nowhere right now. Hopefully Snell provides some depth to probably one of the worst back courts in the league....

Having said that, I like this move for Detroit. They need an influx of talent and need to get creative to obtain it.

Same thing I said about the Nets two years ago and look at them now. Great move by Detroit and it looks like some quality players will be available at 30.

I guess you're right. It still seems like a lot to take on given the compensation. The Nets got multiple picks for Demarre Carroll, and as bad as he is, I think he's still better than Snell.
