Lakers Expected To Sign J.R. Smith Once He Become Free Agent

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jun 25, 2019 8:47 pm

J.R. Smith is expected to become a free agent this offseason.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are attempting to trade the contract of Smith that is partially guaranteed.

"When he's waived, it is my belief he will end up with the Lakers," said Chris Haynes.

Smith played with LeBron James as members of the Cleveland Cavaliers and he is also a client of Rich Paul.

Remind me again how many rings have the Heat won since LeBron left? How many finals appearances? Eastern Conference finals appearances?

guess LeBron has forgiven and/or forgotten the boneheaded plays in cleveland
the donald, always unpopular, did worse in EVERY state in 2020. and by a greater margin in red states! 50 independently-run elections, none of them rigged

Makes sense. An old, beat up, broken down player that's a cancer in the locker room is exactly what the Lakers need.

JR at vet minimum makes perfect sense as a 3 and D guy.. He plays serviceable defence and he is a good three point shooter not sure what the bang head is for.. Yes they should of won game 1 of that finals series against GSW however everyone knows they were winning the series with that Sqaud..

Yes because LBJ running Cleveland was so bad they ended up with a title and probably would of had two had Kyrie and Love not got injured year one and even more had GSW not formed the most stacked team ever.. Sign JR for the vet min is a no brainer here..

Ahh JR can shoot and I am going to assume they sign him for the vet min.. Also I expect Kyle Korver may be waived he will also come play for the Lakers adding some shooting..

He was injured last year so you don't what your going to get. He is better player and shooter then Stephenson no doubt, but it seems it is in the same lane of being a questionable signing. Yea, but lakers do have to fill out their roster so what the hell, why not for a small contract. Korver would be a better choice, but they could easily get both.

I don't understand how LeBron is allowed to form super team after super team and nobody dings his championships because he's clearly garbage with a team he's built without joining wade and Bosh. Then when wade was to injury prone and getting older he bounced on him and tagged up with Kyrie Irving and Love. With Jr Smith in his prime. And let's not act like Tristan Thompson wasn't a beast on the boards. Another clear super team,

But it's ignored like bron actually fought hard for those rings. Even Miami was bad till ray Allen saved them. I don't understand the LeBron hype at all. He's compared to MJ? From what? He's nowhere near Kobe Bryant. He so overrated it annoys the hell outta me. He needs help on top of help just to win by the skin of his freaking teeth.

GS countered him and I loved it. Now he finally sees what he's created. I hope a super team is born this summer like the nets. Hope they get Kyrie butler and someone else who's not on my mind rn. Just a perfect 6th man type to put them over the hump. Maybe even klay Thompson. Butler and Kyrie would need to take huge pay cuts. Just out LeBron LeBron

Pelinka is smart, strategic and innovative. He'll sign JR for 45 mil over 3 years with additional player option plus $6 mil trade kicker.
