Willie Cauley-Stein Agrees To Sign With Warriors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 2, 2019 9:22 pm

Willie Cauley-Stein has agreed to sign with the Golden State Warriors, according to Marcus Thompson.

Cauley-Stein was a lottery pick by the Sacramento Kings in 2014. Cauley-Stein asked the Kings to renounce him in restricted free agency.

Might be appropriate to expect him to return to the Kings though.

He's a Restricted Free Agent, and the Warriors don't have much money to throw around. So unless a sign & trade gets worked out, I'm not sure why the Kings wouldn't match if it's a relatively cheap deal. He's not an amazing player, but he is decent enough to have value.

Will be interesting to see what king of $ is being discussed here and how it all shakes out. Warriors still have Livinston's contract to work with, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear it's involved in this deal.
