Dwight Howard Traded To Grizzlies, Wizards Receive C.J. Miles

The Washington Wizards traded Dwight Howard to the Memphis Grizzlies for C.J. Miles, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski.

The trade will save the Grizzlies $3.1 million in cap sapce.

The Grizzlies are expected to waive or trade Howard.

I see him signing with Milwaukee Bucks to back up Brook Lopez. When Howard was on his final season with the Rockets in 15-16 he basically vetoed a trade to the Bucks at the trade deadline because they wanted him to opt into the final year in his contract instead of test free agency in the cap space palooza of 2016. Obviously Dwight's decision worked out since he inked a 3-year $70M contract that season with Atlanta that is still paying him today despite being flipped to Charlotte and Brooklyn then being waived. He then signed with the Wizards for a discount and now is likely getting traded and waived for the second time in less than a year.

You forgot Orlando where it all started. The Former Magic owner Rich Devos loved Dwight like a son and passed away not that long after he was traded to the Lakers. Dwight broke his heart. Had Dwight not listened to all the losers in his entourage that advised him he could have been the Tim Duncan/Dirk for the Magic even if he never would go on to win a ring. Think Reggie Miller love. He also would have made max money in low tax Florida for basically his entire career and would be loved by the fans in Orlando only second to Mickey Mouse. He wanted Brooklyn and then settled for trade to LA that imploded. He was wooed to Houston where things imploded again. Then he got paid at home in Atlanta flipped to Charlotte then Mitch Kupchak gets hired and flips the dude who got him fired from the Lakers to his dream destination in Brooklyn where the Russian doesn't even hesitate to waive him without playing a single minute for nearly his entire contract value. Lmfao then he is wooed by John Wall who can't stay healthy enough himself to sign with the Wizards where Dwight is again shelved for injuries and now he is salary dumped for the third time in three years.

I'm sorry but Dwight and Melo don't belong in the Hall of Fame - guys who force trades and treat the teams and franchises who drafted them with such disrespect should not be honored in the hall or with the privilege of a jersey retirement. It is one thing if the team trades you or you leave on your own terms as a free agent but if you just bad mouth the organization to get what you want via trade and under perform due to fit, injury or whatever the rest of your career it is the death wish you sought out. Respect is not given and it doesn't last forever. You earn it and you put forward a constant effort to maintain it. Look at Tim Duncan dude gets no attention but decades down the road his name will be mentioned among the greats because he played the right way and conducted himself the right way both on and off the court. Superman turned out to be more like selfish man.

The guy proved he doesn't care about winning. No matter the talent, no team will offer a contract if there's no desire to win. He made his money. Tried it out with a lot of teams and nothing worked out. Time to pack up and call it quits and retire. What a disappointing career.
